What are the down sides of hibernating your computer overnight?

My computer takes a long time to start up and hibernating is way faster but is it okay to hibernate your computer overnight?
Some people say it will make your computer slower or even automatically lock your computer with a random password that you can’t log in.
Once I hibernated for a over like 6 hours and it says that resuming hibernation failed and had to restart the computer. Is it because I hibernated the computer too long?

How does a software identify the computer where it is installed?

A computer has a processor, hard drive etc. We buy software like OS, office etc, for installing in it. But you can not install it in another computer. How does the software identify its “home” then? If I change the hard drive then can I reinstall the same software or I can not?

My computer freezes whenever i start a video call on IMs?

Whenever i start a video call/ web cam/voice call on live messenger, skype, google talk, yahoo messenger, my computer totally freezes, and gives an echo. I have to restart it manually. Sometimes it comes with a blue screen, and it restarts itself.
I am using Vista, and this situation existed when i had XP on this computer. What is wrong? Hardware problems? There is no virus detected after i scanned the computer with Kaspersky.Submited by:wafoon

What causes my computer to take so long to recognize all the drives?

cinbun asked:

When I click on “My Computer”, the little flashlight goes back and forth searching and searching and finally after several minutes shows my drives. Sometimes, even then, it does not recognize portable storage devices connected to a USB port. This problem began several months ago, but before that, as soon as I double-clicked “My Computer”, the drive icons would show up. My computer is about 3 years old.

How to transfer files from a computer that will only run in safe mode?

corey2444 asked:

I have an old computer that gets a blue error screen (when trying to boot up), then auto-restarts. The only way to access this computer is through safe mode.

I have purchased a new computer, but still need some important tax info off the old one, for my 2008 taxes.

I have never transferred files from one computer to another, let alone from one that only boots up on safe mode to the other.

If this is not possible, is there another way I can get the files on my new computer?

How set my computer back to its orginal settings?

zdenek527 asked:

I have a Dell computer running Microsoft Vista that’s about a year old. I wish to erase the hard drive and put the original software back on it. I have four cds that came with the computer. One with the operating system, another with application software, and two with drivers and utilities. I’ve gone to computers and tried formating the hard drive, and it won’t let me. What do I need to do?

What computer company has good quality for gaming?

I just figured out that my computer has this kind of trojan. I was running pretty much all of the Anti-virus things my computer has. The main one says there is nothing there and my Windows defender says I have two trojans so I’m not sure what to do. I’m thinking of buying or building a new one.
Right now I have intel. Im not sure which is best like Dell, Miscrosoft, etc. I need a gaming computer which can also be used as a school work computer. Any ideas?

My computer is making a grinding noise at start up only?

Every time I turn my computer on, there is a loud grinding noise as it boots up. After the computer is all booted up and at the desktop (meaning, that on my monitor, you can see all of my icons and such) it stops.
My fans all seem to be fine. What could this be and how do I fix it?
Thank you!
