I know that installing 2 antivirus programs on a computer can be disastrous.

But is it ok to install an antivirus program (Avast) and spyware removal (Spyware Doctor) on the same computer?Submited by:D.Wu

I am sure this happens to many avast home users.
I currently have to be in front of my computer every time a virus is found in order to remove/delete it.
Is there a way to make this work without me there ?
Like automatically removing/quarantining infections.
I want to be able to leave it for a few hours and when i get back to be finished.
Maybe it is not possible in Home version.
What about the professional version ?
Please provide details in this important matter.

When you first install avast and reboot, there’s a scan BEFORE windows loads. At that time I didn’t have much time so I canceled it, how can I invoke that again?

Well Avast is good but ever since I start using AVG anti-virus I liked how well it works at not slowing down my computer and decided to get rid of Avast. And now I just need to convince my dad to start using AVG.

I’m going to a university and they don’t allow you to download files from the internet from things like limewire or vuze. So is there anyway to make it look like a different computer is downloading these things, or a way to hide my activity?

Can you guys reccommend a good antivirus program that’s free and that wont slow down my computer a whole lot. I used to have avg pro, but it expired and I dont want to have to buy a renewal version. Thanks!
