Is it OK to have Avast antivirus and Spyware Doctor both installed on the same computer?

I know that installing 2 antivirus programs on a computer can be disastrous.

But is it ok to install an antivirus program (Avast) and spyware removal (Spyware Doctor) on the same computer?Submited by:D.Wu

  Immediately uninstall spyware doctor bcoz avast have already spyware remover.

  If u can’t uninstall that your system files will be hanged and aftet some your can faced blue screen of windows error.

  no, even if one is anti-virus and other is anti-spyware, those types of programs get a special access to files usually inaccessible by other programs.
  Resulting in two programs seeing each other as virus/spyware and stop them, leaving you more vulnerable than just having one. This might even mess up your registry, and slow down your computer.

  I think I don’t think you really “know” since it is wrong. I currently have two antivirus (AVG and Norton) and three spyware (Norton, Spyware Doctor, and Spy Sweeper). You’ll call it overkill, but I’m just experimenting. Take it from experience, it doesn’t hurt anything. The software companies just want you to buy all their products, not just one.

  Only IF you have the standard version of Spyware Doctor or IF you have Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus and you disable the entire AntiVirus engine.

  My recommendation is to uninstall Spyware Doctor because it uses way too many resources. You might want to consider getting a free antispyware like SUPERAntiSpyware and you can also download Threatfire, which provides the same real time protection of Spyware Doctor.

  don’t listen to others. it is PERFECTLY ok. You can use 2 antispyware together but you cannot use 2 antivirus together. For over an year I have been using spyware doctor with avira antivirus. no problems at all.

  you will be surprised to see there is absolutely no problem whatsoever. most people here don’t know anything
